Why is the fund called J&T Ventures? What is its relationship with J&T Bank?
J&T Ventures is an independent venture capital fund where the partners are the investors. Unlike corporate funds managed by salaried professionals, our fund is led by partners who have personally invested in its success. While J&T Bank is an institutional investor, it holds no special rights, and further allows us to leverage the full range of contacts and opportunities within the J&T Group to benefit our portfolio companies.
What factors do you consider when investing in a startup?
Key factors include market size, potential for fast scaling, and the team’s proven track record. However, we evaluate each opportunity individually as we know that the world isn’t black and white.
What materials will you ask me to provide during the investment process?
In the early stages, we mainly need your pitch deck and a business plan.
Does J&T Ventures also make follow-on investments?
Yes, we regularly make follow-on investments and further support our portfolio companies. However, the maximum allocation for a single company is €6M.
Is J&T Ventures a lead investor?
Yes, we are capable of being the lead investor and handling the entire investment process. Historically, we have led about 80% of our transactions, but we’re equally interested in being a co-investor.
How long does it take to get an investment decision?
Our investment process typically takes 2-3 months. However, we are a small and flexible team that is able to make quick decisions when necessary.

No, J&T Ventures is a sector-agnostic fund. Our expertise in each sector comes from our extensive network of contacts.
How do you handle the information startups provide to you?
We place a high priority on confidentiality and trust. All information submitted to us is used solely for internal purposes and is stored on our secure internal systems. We always ask for permission if we want to share information with another investor or third party.
What is your exit strategy?
We look for startups with rapid growth potential, aiming for an exit within 5-7 years, either through acquisition by a third party or an IPO.
